Finger Lickin’ Love

I love to cook food which makes people lick their fingers and leave the plate clean. I have never made ribs before, but I was told this is a meal that every person has to learn how to make if they want to cook crowd please food.   I made a really juicy sticky sauce and brought some good quality ribs from the market.   Making your own barbeque sauce saves you quite a bit of money and you can make it in batches for later use.

This recipe was taken from Silvana Franco’s The Really Useful Ultimate Student Cookbook (Murdoch Books, 2007).

BBQ Ribs

Ingredients:

450 – 500g pork spare ribs, 2 tbsps flour, seasoning, 1 tbsp dark soy sauce, 1 tbsp tomato puree, 2 tbsps clear honey, 2 garlic cloves (peeled and finely chopped), 1 cm fresh ginger peeled and chopped, 3 tbsps orange juice, 1 tsp English mustard.

Method:

1. Rub the flour and the seasoning over the ribs.
2. Mix the rest of the ingredients in a bowl.
3. Place the ribs on an oven tray lined with tin foil.
4. Coat the ribs in the sauce.
5. Pre heat the oven to 180 degrees C.
6. Bake for 40 minutes to an hour until cooked through and browned.
