Pineapple Banana Sunshine Smoothie

Summer is officially over

I woke up, looked outside the window and it was grey and miserable.  The rain had not come yet, but it was coming.  Nobody was confused outside.  Everyone was in long coats and the postman was finally covering his legs.  Summer is officially over,  no more people sun bathing and no need to be afraid of bees.  However, the end of summer means daddy long legs, cold, no cheap berries and more cold.  So, how do I make sure I am happy in the run up till my birthday?  I take the best parts of summer and mix it with the best parts of winter.  For me the best thing about summer is bright food, sexy clothing and loud music.  So on the last day of September I played loud music, wore sexy lingerie and made a sunshine smoothie.  Say Something!

This recipe was adapted from Levi Roots’ Reggae Reggae Cookbook (Collins, 2008).

Pineapple Banana Smoothie

Ingredients:

200g chopped pineapple, 1 big banana (peeled and chopped), 10g strawberry whey protein powder, a splash of tropical fruit juice, 20g plain yoghurt.

Method:

1. Blend everything together into a mixer and pour into a glass.
