Crab Sandwiches

Quality Good Time

I made these classic sandwiches for a special person’s lunch to symbolise that they would soon be moving up in the world.  There is nothing I love more than watching my people become successful. Crab sandwiches have always been associated with a sophisticated luncheon.  Life is too short to not give yourself treats.  So for a day ditch the common sandwiches and treat yourselves to a crab sandwich with avocado and a touch of lemon juice.

This recipe was adapted from Good Housekeeping Magazine (June, 2013).

Crab Avocado Sandwich


200g white crab meat, 4 tbsps mayonnaise, 2 tbsps chives, 1 tsp lemon juice, 1/2 tsp hot pepper sauce, 1/2 avocado (diced), 7 cherry tomatoes (quartered), wholemeal bread, margarine.


1. Delicately fold in a small bowl the crab meat, mayonnaise, chives, lemon juice, hot pepper sauce, avocado and tomatoes.
2. Season to taste.
3. Butter a few slices of wholemeal bread and divide the filling to make the crab sandwiches.
