Chocolate and Ginger Nut Slice

A good feeling

Apparently many studies have shown that ginger and chocolate can make you feel good about yourself.  So when I found this recipe I was very excited that I could give my partner twice the amount of joy.  This is a great easy lunch snack and tastes really lovely with a warm hot chocolate chopped with cream.  I love to spoil.

This was adapted from Good Food Magazine’s 101 Cheap Eats (BBC Books, 2003).

Ingredients:

100g butter, 100g white chocolate, 100g dark chocolate, 2 tbsps golden syrup, 350g ginger biscuits, 150g chopped mixed nuts.

Method:

1. Crush the biscuits into small pieces.
2. Melt the butter, both chocolates and the golden syrup in a saucepan over a low heat.
3. Keep stirring and when melted remove from the heat.
4. Mix the melted butter, chocolate and syrup in with the biscuits.
5. Add 100g of chopped nuts.
6. Pour and spread into a small baking tin. Sprinkle over the remaining nuts.
7. Chill until it has set.
