Spicy Dancing Men

April 22, 2013

Gotta Dance

These cookies tasted so nice I jumped about in my kitchen imitating the moves done by my tasty figures.  Sugar and spice makes dancing feel nice!

This recipe was adapted from Sainsbury’s Recipe Cards.

100g butter, 150g caster sugar, 1 medium egg, 225g plain flour, 1/2 tsp baking powder, 1/2 tsp mixed spice, 2 tsps ground ginger.

1. Cream the butter and sugar together.
2. Stir in the egg.
3. Sift in the flour, baking powder and spices.
4. Mix the mixture to form a dough.
5. Make a dough ball and wrap in cling film.
6. Chill in the fridge for 30 minutes.
7. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees C.
8. Roll out the dough onto a floured surface or smooth board.
9. Cut out your dancing men and put them in funny positions.
10. Bake for 12 minutes.
11. Cook on a wire rack.
